Catholic Romance Novels? Why not?

When journalist Daniel Fitzpatrick travels to Rome to interview Cardinal Nicolo Menconi, the Cardinal asks him to investigate some mysterious documents, which Daniel hopes will lead to a bombshell story and possible book deal. There’s one catch: he has to work with the Cardinal’s beautiful niece, Francesca “Frannie” Menconi. The unlikely pair are thrown into the crosshairs of a mafia triangle that may reach into the highest ranks of the Catholic Church. Their search for the truth takes them from Rome to Salzburg, where Daniel and Frannie uncover one surprise after the next. For Daniel, the unexpected partnership may bring a surprise of its own: he may be forced to confront a past that has left him wounded and jaded, or else miss his chance for the love he’s only dreamed of. Daniel may realize he is about to encounter the interview of a lifetime.
The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried.
G. K. Chesterton
I write for an audience that desires good characters; non-perfect characters they can identify with and characters that inspire. In a culture full of vulgarity and the profane, I strive to provide an alternative: stories of redemption, virtue, and the quest for holiness. Some may scoff and claim these ideas are old-fashioned. However, ideas that are “old” does not mean they are no longer true. As G.K. Chesterton said, “Fallacies do not cease to be fallacies because they become fashions.” The only way to change the culture is to change ourselves. We must give the the difficult Christian ideal a try. I hope these books inspire you to rediscover virtue and faith…and the courage to seek both.
